8-WEEK MINDFULNESS-BASED STRESS REDUCTION
"Mindfulness isn’t for gurus on the mountaintops. It is about everyday life. It is about learning to make friends with ourselves, as we are."
-Waylon H. Lewis
Our body is always in the present moment, but what about our minds? Life is unfolding moment by moment in the here-and-now, what happens when we are not fully present?
"Coming home to" the present moment:
The 8-week MBSR programme is based on the work of Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn. It is an invitation to individuals who are interested in becoming more engaged and present with themselves and with life, through the practice of Mindfulness.
In this 8-week programme, we will practise cultivating awareness of our experiences (i.e. thoughts, emotions and body sensations) and the ways we habitually react to and deal with stress. We will also explore different ways of responding to life’s stressors and learn how to look after ourselves in difficult moments. While we cannot always change the circumstances in which we find ourselves, we can choose to how to respond to them mindfully.
